Intro
Ahoj,
I struggle with writing interesting blog entries, but here goes....
I arrived in Prague on the 26th of August, 2006 and I will be staying for about a year. Excited? Yes! Scared shitless? Also yes! So far the experience has been really great, I have met loads of cool people from all over the world and I'm living in a really cool area. My job is solid, although I have had to adjust to the non-luxury of not having your own office. I sit face to face with my boss in his office. Luckily the computer screens are back to back and I am able to send the occasional personal email. The company is called Inter-Informatics, they do engineering design and software for the transpost industry, which I know nothing about. I do, however, pretend to know something about marketing and I have successfully convinced these naive Czech people that I will be of value to them. I hope I make Mike Maher proud!!
The beer in Prague is lovely and I am growing my own Czech Passport as we speak. I should come back to Canada with a size 40 waist at least! They tell me here that the dark ales make your chest grow and the light lagers make your stomach grow. After I told my boss this he quickly replied "I've never heard that before....but I'm glad my wife likes dark beer!".....classic!
Blanka is arriving in Prague on the 26th of September and is going to stay for a week. I'm super excited and we will cram a lot of stuff into those 6.5 days!
I will be posting pictures and entries on this site every so often. I don't have an internet connection in my flat so when I get some time at the local internet cafe I'll try to post interesting things.
That is all for now,
Alex
